How it works

What survives when a ship doesn’t?

Qualified people operate the fleet. Recovering them can save experience as well as lives.

People have jobs

Command staff, sailors, engineers, pilots and marines fill different roles. Staffing, equipment and available work positions constrain what can run. Replacements require training and physical transport.

Experience belongs to the people

Pilot experience affects recognition and reaction to incoming fire; the aircraft still needs enough thrust to move. Callsigns are earned with experience. A recovered pilot can retain that experience through rescue and transfer. Many sailors remain represented as groups rather than individual characters.
