Fleet workshop / hardware fitting

Keep the hull. Choose its hardware.

Leave a mount empty. Reinstall its equipment. See what the ship loses—and what it no longer has to power.

Browser fitting draft: leave registered modules out of the design, or put them back. Native removal and construction admission are not verified. Structural, integrated and service-bearing assemblies stay fixed.

A complement is a plan, not people already aboard. In the game, qualified personnel must be assigned from the existing roster.

What can I change in this first pass?

Independent weapons, projectors, reactors, drives and other exported equipment packages can be removed and reinstalled at their original mounts. A turret includes its bearing and barrel. Assemblies containing unclassified feed, cooling or service machinery stay fixed until their native contracts distinguish those services. Hull-integrated equipment remains fixed. You cannot turn an empty socket into an extra reactor or a different weapon without a matching article contract.

Shape, material mass, equipment ratings and dependency chains come from the selected published edition. Module removal changes the drawn parts, rated demand, generation and available systems. It does not create an interchangeable space budget. Shipyard cost, structural clearance, ammunition compatibility, heat, crew and native construction admission remain separate.

Damage and stored supplies survive removing and reinstalling equipment. Restore stock explicitly resets both the fit and this local scenario. KESTREL’s article editor and current KITE’s article editor retain their existing alternatives.
