How it works

Why can’t a ship just stop?

Mass, thrust and fuel decide which maneuvers your ship can actually make.

An order still needs engines

You choose where a ship should go. Its engines and maneuvering thrusters have to accelerate, turn and brake the actual hull. A heavy ship brings its momentum into the next decision.

Damage changes the maneuver

Losing propulsion changes the thrust available. A ship may still have working guns but struggle to turn, stop or leave. Position and escape routes matter before the first shot lands.
